Jennylynd James
Jennylynd James is an artist, writer, vocalist, and food scientist all in one package… a true Renaissance woman.
Jennylynd graduated with a Ph.D. in food science at McGill University, Canada and worked for many years in the food industry in the US, Latin America, Europe, and Canada.
In 2009 Jennylynd discovered a hidden talent for drawing and painting while working as an entrepreneur in Ireland. Her artsy flair in running a food business took an interesting turn when, in an amateur art class, the instructor found she excelled in portraiture and sketching. Jennylynd uses the vivid colours of her Caribbean heritage and global travel to influence her artwork. She has played the piano and sung in large choirs from childhood, and her recent paintings focus on a passion for stage performance and capturing the joy of music and dance. Loose brush strokes in acrylic portray the movement and expression of characters at live shows, creating the illusion of a big, rich sound. Jennylynd’s artwork is held in collections in Canada, the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean, and the United Kingdom.
